World’s Tallest Donation Box launched in Dubai to provide meals to underprivileged during COVID-19 crisis

The World’s Tallest Donation box initiative was recently launched in Dubai. As per the initiative, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which stands at a height of 828 m, will be transformed into a donation box as part of the campaign aimed at providing meals to Coronavirus-hit communities across the United Arab Emirates.

Reportedly, for each AED 10 (20.57 INR) donation, one of the 1.2 million LED lights of the building would be illuminated, which represents a meal. Referring to this, Dubai’s media office issued a statement that said representing donations as lights beaming on Burj Khalifa reflects the hope that small acts of kindness will bring to less fortunate communities, as the country continues its battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

As per the latest news reports, as many as individuals from more than 100 countries have been a part of the said cause by purchasing a LED light on the façade of the world’s tallest building for as little as AED 10.

The Tallest Donation Box drive is a part of the campaign that seeks to reach the goal of donating 1.2 million meals and illuminate the entire building. Illuminating the world’s tallest building for a good cause also strengthens the status of the UAE as a global beacon of hope in all circumstances.
