Vietnam’s Bikini Airline is offering “SKY COVID CARE” insurance

While the whole world is fighting together to defeat the Coronavirus, Vietnam’s VietJet airline is apparently selling tickets with COVID-19 “SKY COVID CARE” insurance (health insurance against COVID 19). Yes, you read that right. VietJet, more popular as ‘Bikini Airline’, is created by Vietnam’s first female billionaire. The airline shot to fame for its marketing strategy showcasing women in bikinis as crew members.

About the Health Insurance

Now, the airline has come up with an offer, providing Coronavirus health insurance coverage with every flight, according to the airlines. To be eligible for this insurance cover, passengers need not have to get infected during travel to claim the coverage. However, if they’re tested positive within 30 days of their travel, they’ll be able to claim up to $8500 (INR 6,47,572) from private health coverage.

The offer is valid only for domestic travel from March 23, 2020, to June 30, 2020.

What passengers need to do?
To get the insurance coverage, passengers will have to provide all information in accordance with airlines “Terms and conditions” when buying tickets and comply with all regulations on disease prevention and control of VietJet, the Ministry of Health and authorities.

As of now, Vietnam is counted among those countries, which has successfully contained the virus from spreading further. The Vietnam government started taking all the necessary precautions and measures starting as far back as 23 January, 2020. All the schools in the country were shut down and isolation was imposed on people. The military was also called to enforce all the government restrictions on people, which further helped curb the Coronavirus outbreak.

However, travelling even within the country is not safe, with half of the world including the EU, India, Spain and many more still under high virus risk.
