This is how European nations plan to lift lockdown restrictions in the coming weeks

Countries in Europe are already working on exit strategies from the lockdown. As reports come in of possible improvements in the situation in certain countries, the lockdown could be lifted soon, but the question remains, how. As of now, countries such as Germany, France, Poland, among others, are planning to lift the lockdown.

In Germany, Angela Merkel’s government is allowing smaller stores to reopen, keeping in mind the billions of Euros that they lost during this period of lockdown. Reports suggest that stores that are less than 800 sq mt. will be allowed to reopen, and so will bike shops, car dealerships, and book stores. However, restaurants, gyms, large stores, and bars will remain closed, while people have been urged to wear masks. There seems to be a slowdown in infection rates in the country, and that is promising.

France, on the other hand, is coming up with a plan for lifting the lockdown in the coming weeks. According to reports, the lockdown will get lifted after May 11, but things will be far from normal, as lives will not exactly be the same.

The Czech Republic is going to allow open-air markets to operate businesses, while Poland is going to reopen parks and forests. Austria too has reopened smaller shops already, while large shops, shopping centres, and hairdressers will reopen from May 1. Spain, on the other hand, said that the country is not going to start lifting lockdown yet. The country confirmed more than 20000 deaths related to Coronavirus.

While Denmark’s young children will be able to attend school soon, farmers’ markets in Bulgaria are also on the verge of reopening.
