These famous national parks in the US are all set to reopen from next week

The three largely popular national parks in the US are all set to reopen from next week according to the National Park Service. These are Everglades National Park in Florida, Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah and Great Smoky Mountain National Park in North Carolina and Tennessee. Everything will be monitored closely and the parks will follow a strict timetable and guidelines, given the COVID-19 pandemic.

The agency said that they’ll follow Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidance along with those provided by the regional and local health authorities. The CDC has introduced a whole web page that educates consumers on how to stay safe in park settings.

The organisation announced that it would start “increasing access and services in a phased approach across all units of the National Park System” in coming days.

Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah is planning to open a few trails around the Bryce Amphitheater, which is the most frequented region of the park. More or less, the whole park will reopen apart from the visitor center, campgrounds, a few trails and restrooms, as per official announcement made by the park.

Everglades National Park in Florida is also all set to open its gates to visitors from Monday while the Great Smoky Mountain National Park in North Carolina and Tennessee will let visitors enjoy various trails from May 9.

Beside these three, few more parks are planning to resume park operations but gradually and safely. Some of the national parks never really got shut down even during the rising number of virus cases in the country while on the other hand, parks like Yosemite became tourist magnets during this time.

However, prominent national parks which attract visitors in large numbers such as Grand Canyon and Yellowstone were shuttered in early stages and will remain closed. The Grand Teton National Park will also remain closed, however, the Signal Mountain Lodge, on the park’s Jackson Lake, is planning to open for visitors from June 5.

Hopefully things will return back to normal but it will surely take some time.
