The Empire State Building will be hosting a virtual movie night series and here’s how you can tune in

With all the entertainment centres and travel options shut because of the ongoing pandemic, people have definitely got sick of being at home for more than five months now. Though a significant part of the world has started to reopen gradually, the USA still remains under severe virus attack. In an effort to entertain and make life little interesting, the Empire State Building has collaborated with Disney and Vudu to create a virtual movie night series.

So, every Thursday during the month of August, 100 lucky people will get a chance to watch a free screening of a movie featuring the iconic building from their homes. The event already started on July 30 and Independence Day was the first movie that premiered.

Jean-Yves Ghazi, president of the Empire State Building Observatory, in an official statement said, “This summer, we connect with our fans, visitors, and moviegoers alike and bring the Empire State Building right to their homes.”

He further said that the team really hopes people will enjoy “The World’s Most Famous Building” as they get to watch these classic movies from the comforts of their home.

Here’s how to participate?

Those interested can check the Empire State Building Instagram account, @empirestatebldg, every Friday when they open up the contest. The 100 lucky winners receive the codes to check out the week’s featured film for free on Vudu.

Not only this, five people will also receive a special cinema pack which comprises candy, popcorn, and ESB-branded swag. In addition, one grand-prize winner will get the code, a movie pack, along with two Empire State Building tickets whenever it reopens to visitors.

Winners are chosen every Tuesday, and codes are provided on Thursday morning.

America, as of now, is the worst-hit country in the world with the pandemic with more than 4.83 million Coronavirus positive cases. The virus has claimed more than 159000 lives in the US alone!
