Kolkata: All flight operations suspended on revised total lockdown days. Check the dates here

All flight operations at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport will remain suspended on all the revised seven days of total lockdown in West Bengal. This was announced by the airport authorities recently.

Earlier, all flight operations on July 25 and 29 were suspended at the airport due to the total lockdown announced by the state government. Referring to this, the Kolkata airport authority tweeted that acting in line with the state government order, flight operations at Kolkata airport will remain suspended on the revised lockdown days, i.e., August 8th, 20th, 21st, 27th, 28th and 31st, 2020.

Reportedly, on Monday, the West Bengal Government again announced changes in terms of complete lockdown dates in August, with no restrictions on Sundays. This is for the fourth time that the state government has announced changes in dates regarding complete lockdown. Earlier, the state government decided to impose a bi-weekly complete lockdown in the state to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Now, as per the new orders of the state government, lockdown will be enforced on August 20, 21, 27, 28, instead of August 16, 17, 23 and 24 as announced earlier.

Also, a ban on passenger flights to Kolkata from six cities, i.e., from Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Nagpur has been extended till August 15. However, flights to Kolkata from the said six cities have been banned since July 6.

In case you are planning to travel to Kolkata in the near future, mark these dates to avoid any last-minute hassle.
