Kerala wants arriving passengers from all states to get RT-PCR test done

The Kerala government has now come out with some new rules for travel as COVID-19 cases continue to increase at an alarming rate in the nation. Authorities have directed all passengers to get RT-PCR test done before entering into Kerala. This means that no matter which state you are from, you ought to get your RT-PCR test done.

According to the advisory, passengers must get the test done 48 hours before entering the state. Even those who are vaccinated, need to get it done. Hence, it is a blanket rule for all passengers, and for all states. You can also get it done immediately after entering the state.

However, all concerned must note that those undertaking the test on arrival will be isolated at their respective accommodations until the report is out. In the event of a positive report, you are required to seek medical help.

In case of a negative report, you are supposed to follow all COVID-19 protocols during your stay in the state. These include, maintaining social distance, wearing masks, and sanitizing your hands. Ideally, such rules must be followed at all places, and at all times. The latest guidelines also mention that symptomatic passengers need to seek medical attention at the earliest.

International travellers are requested to follow the protocols as laid out by the Government of India, and seek medical help in case of any influenza-like symptoms. International travellers too must get their RT-PCR test done 72 hours before arrival. A mandatory 14 days of quarantine must be observed.
