In these uncertain times of COVID-19 pandemic, we are unable to go out to dine at our favourite restaurants and are vigorously experimenting with food at home. Of course, there is the question of stock, so we have to be extra careful when cooking so that we do not run out of groceries. While there are many people online who are giving out cooking lessons, what if we could learn from the experts themselves? That way, you would know for sure that your meal is going to be edible (if not too tasty); at the same time, you can bring some variety to your dining table.
Velas Resorts in Mexico is coming to the rescue of people under lockdown around the world by opening up their kitchen secrets. The best part about this is that you do not require too many ingredients, and still manage to make some delicious foods. The resort is making headlines online, with its decision of allowing you to get in touch with 25 of its world-class chefs.
The resort is launching a web portal called What’s in your Pantry that is extremely user friendly. You can put in all the ingredients you have in your kitchen, and challenge the 25 professional chefs to come up with a recipe. They will then bring out a customised dish made of those ingredients available in your kitchen, just for you.
All you have to do is visit the website, and enter your name, email address, and ingredients. You can also take a picture of the ingredient and upload it on the web portal. Recipe for the dish will miraculously get delivered to your inbox, and you can then try cooking it. Isn’t that unique?
This is a great initiative, and an amazing opportunity for us to delve into the minds of professional chefs, and have customised dishes created by them.
