In a piece of major news for travellers from all over the world, wonderful French Polynesia is opening its doors to tourists from July 15. French Polynesia is hailed as one of the essential experiences in the world for travellers and comprises of 118 islands and atolls. It has been reported that there has been no new COVID-19 case in French Polynesia since May 29, and is thus resuming tourist operations from July 15. While it is all set to open its borders for all countries, airlines from Europe and the USA have confirmed flights operations for Tahiti, which is the hub of all tourism activities in the region.
The government and tourism board of French Polynesia have laid out clear rules regarding testing, social distancing and quarantine against the Coronavirus. Anyone intending to travel here must have a travel insurance policy. Further, all tourists arriving here can be randomly tested for the Coronavirus in the first four days of their arrival. Moreover, all tourists need to get tested and have a negative result 72 hours before boarding.
In case one tests positive after lading here, they will be quarantined in the accommodation or any such facility right after. Apart from opening its borders, the tourism board has also gone virtual, and one can enjoy one of their virtual tours online till the pandemic eases.
