This is the time for celebration in India, and a number of states are celebrating different festivals but silently. Several things have changed this year, including the way people celebrate, because of the Coronavirus lockdown. Assam too celebrated Rongali Bihu, a silent affair because of the nationwide lockdown.
Meanwhile, the Assam Police, which is known for its witty tweets, came up with an interesting Bihu dance campaign. In the music video, the policemen are urging people not to gather at one place in the name of celebration.
In the video that is doing rounds on the social media, Assam Police officials can be seen dancing and educating people on the danger of the pandemic, and how critical it is to maintain social distance and the law and order amid this crisis. The video was shared by the Assam Police on their official YouTube Channel and Twitter account too.
The police department also issued an advisory on how to celebrate the festival inside. The DGP of Assam also shared the video on his twitter account, wishing people a happy and safe Rongali Bihu.
For a Happy & Safe Rongali#Bihu:
🔹Bihu Committees are requested to kindly organise only flag hoisting ceremonies with max 5 people, restrict to 30 mins & observe strict #SocialDistancing
🔹Citizens are requested to please celebrate within their homes.https://t.co/usrpzkPBZU
