White House in the US will resume public tours from Sep. 12

The famous White House in Washington in the US has decided to restart public tours from September 12, 2020. The tours stopped about six months ago, given the COVID-19 outbreak. Now, tours will begin in the coming days with all new health and safety policies relating to Coronavirus.

Instead of five days, the tours will now take place just two days in a week for just a few hours. The announcement was made by the first lady’s office on Tuesday.

The White House said, “In order to ensure the safety and health of all visitors, there have been new policies implemented that align with the guidance issued by Federal, State, and local officials.”

To maintain social distance, the number of visitors will also be reduced and visitors over age two will have to wear a face mask. The whole visitor area will feature social distancing dots on the ground to help visitors during check-in. Not only this, hand sanitisers will be provided at various locations of the White House.

The National Park Service along with the US Secret Service officers and White House staff will also cover their faces, wear gloves and motivate people to follow social distancing during their visits.
