As the Coronavirus pandemic took over the world by storm in the year 2020, use of electronic devices went up with people trying to kill boredom inside their homes. Reportedly, internet usage worldwide increased between 50 and 70 per cent in 2020.
Now, in order to help people take a break from the virtual web and reconnect with nature and each other, Club Wyndham, a noted vacation ownership club in the USA, is running an Unplugging Pledge ahead of the upcoming National Day of Unplugging.
The National Day of Unplugging falls on March 5-6, 2021. Participants can go on a trek, do arts and crafts, play board games, relish a spread of delicious food or spend quality time with their family rather than staying hooked to their mobile devices. To enhance the experience, Club Wyndham is offering prizes to the participants in their 2021 pledge.
Reportedly, travellers who keep a track of their daily mobile screen time and prove that they have reduced it by 25 percent till March 5, will receive a 25 per cent discount towards a few properties for their future trips.
Club Wyndham has a catalogue of offers on more than 220 vacation properties around the USA. The discount is applicable to four resorts that are participating. They are:
- Club Wyndham Resort at Fairfield Glade
- Club Wyndham Ocean Ridge
- Club Wyndham Smoky Mountains
- Club Wyndham Branson at The Meadows
The list of activities include going on a hike through the Smoky Mountains, kayaking trip across the lagoons of Edisto Beach at Club Wyndham Ocean Ridge, and horseback riding in the Ozark region at Club Wyndham Branson at The Meadows. For the upcoming spring season, this is an ideal chance to take a break with your family or even for solo travel.
