Sauna in the wild

Tofino Resort + Marina redefines “get away from it all” spa-ing with its new, full-day floating sauna experience in Clayoquot Sound, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve off Vancouver Island. Book the private experience for you and a few friends, and you’ll be towed to your serene remote location by boat, where you can de-stress in the wood-fired cedar sauna, cool off right in the Pacific Ocean, explore by paddleboard or kayak, and just laze about on the dock hammocks in total peace and quiet.

Getaway perks

Tourism Kingston is offering a March getaway package that includes a $100 Visa gift card for each night you stay at one of the participating hotels (two nights minimum, five nights max). Your options include boutiquey spots like Frontenac Club, as well as heritage properties like Hochelaga Inn and the Secret Garden Inn, all within about a three-hour drive from Toronto.

Back on stage

This summer will see the return of PEI’s beloved Charlottetown Festival and its signature production, “Anne of Green Gables: The Musical” (June 18 to Sept. 3) — which is in the Guinness record books as the world’s longest-running annual musical (before the pandemic pause). The star of the show will be Toronto’s own Kelsey Verzotti, who will be the first ever Asian actor to play the iconic islander on this stage. Tickets are on sale now for the 2022 festival, which will focus on telling stories of East Coast culture and resilience.

Sweet spot

Sugarbush season has officially kicked off at Stanley’s Olde Maple Lane Farm in Edwards, Ont., near Ottawa. On weekends (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) until April 17, the family-friendly fun includes admission to the farm, walking trails, a petting barn, and a heritage sugar shack more than 200 years old. Go for a tractor-drawn ride or sample all the treats, like maple taffy on the snow and deep-fried pancakes.
