Travel from Mumbai to Pune in Vistadome coaches from June 26

Very soon, you will get to travel between Mumbai and Pune in Vistadome coaches. As per the reports, Central Railway will start running the Mumbai-Pune Deccan Express special train with Vistadome coach from June 26.

Reportedly, the said train was off the tracks since mid-May after the Maharashtra state government had announced stringent regulations for intrastate travel.

With this, those travelling between Mumbai and Pune will now be able to enjoy panoramic views of Western Ghats through the new Vistadome coach, which has been introduced by the Indian Railways.

Referring to this, CR spokesperson said that although at present, only one train, the CSTM-Madgaon Janshatabdi special, operates with the said Vistadome coaches. The new addition of such coaches in Deccan Express will offer passengers unhindered views of valley, river, waterfalls, and much more on the Mumbai-Pune route.

Recently, Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal shared the pictures of the new Vistadome coach, and tweeted, “Enjoy the scenic beauty of the Western Ghats with the first ever Vistadome coach on this route.”

The train will chug through the mesmerizing Western Ghats, which will offer glimpses of Matheran hill, Songir Hill, Ulhas Valley, Ulhas River, areas of Lonavala, Khandala, along with tunnels and waterfalls on the South East Ghat section.

The Vistadome coach will be air-conditioned, has a glass roof, GPS-based information system, and LED lights. The air-conditioned coach has the capacity to accommodate 44 passengers, which can rotate up to180 degrees to face the direction of train movement, and comes equipped with automatic sliding doors, special observation lounge to offer panoramic view, and multi-tier luggage rack. The coaches have glass panels on the roof, and large windows on the sides to provide a better viewing experience.

The fare for these will be similar to executive chair class fare in Shatabdi class train, and no concessional fare facility will be provided to any category of passengers.
