Royal Caribbean has announced that they’re going to homeport the largest cruise ship in the world at Port Canaveral in November 2022.  From Port Canaveral on Florida’s Space Coast, Wonder of the Seas will offer 7-night round-trip eastern and western Caribbean cruises through the winter months.

But before the ship arrives at Port Canaveral, Wonder of the Seas has different and exciting itineraries planned.

Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas to Cruise from Port Canaveral

Scheduled for a late-winter 2022 launch in Europe, Wonder of the Seas will cross the Atlantic bound for a Ft. Lauderdale arrival in March.

From South Florida, the ship will head out on mostly 7-night Caribbean cruises.  Then on April 20, 2022, Wonder of the Seas returns to  Europe for a summer season of Mediterranean cruises with departures from Barcelona and Rome.

After completing its summer European itineraries, Wonder will offer another transatlantic cruise on October 30, 2022 sailing from Barcelona to Port Canaveral

“We’re very proud to have Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas homeport here, and we look forward to welcoming her next fall,” stated Capt. John Murray, Port CEO. “This is terrific news for our entire Port community and another endorsement of our commitment to excellence in providing a world-class experience for our cruise guests.”

Ports along the way from Barcelona include Palma de Mallorca, Valencia, Cartagena and Malaga, Spain; Nassau and Port Canaveral.

New Features on Wonder of the Seas

This is the fifth Oasis Class ship for Royal Caribbean.  The first, aptly named Oasis of the Seas, debuted way back in 2009.  Now, Wonder of the Seas will offer new features and activities that the other four ships don’t have…yet.

  • Suite Class Neighborhood – This unique eighth neighborhood offers Royal Suite Class guests an elevated Suite Sun Deck in a new location, along with a plunge pool, bar and plenty of lounge chairs and nooks to relax.  Other favorites will return; Coastal Kitchen, the private restaurant, and the Suite Lounge. There will be the Ultimate Family Suite that can accommodate a family of 10.

  • Wonder Playscape – Kids will have a whole new outdoor adventure with slides, climbing walls, games, an interactive mural activated by touch and puzzles.
  • The Vue – A great venue for watching the sunset, this new cantilevered bar offers panoramic ocean views from above on the pool deck all day.  After sunset, there’s a lighted colorful mosaic canopy overhead.

  • Pool Deck Expanded – The Lime & Coconut returns at the center with two poolside bars and live music.  Adjacent are a trio of high-speed waterslides, The Perfect Storm, and kids’ Aqua Park Splashaway Bay.  Kick back in one of the casitas to watch a movie under the stars at Royal Caribbean’s largest poolside movie screen.

Wonder of the Seas Fort Lauderdale 7-night Eastern or Western Caribbean cruises will visit Cozumel, Mexico; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; San Juan, Puerto Rico, and more.

Every sailing from Florida includes a day at Royal Caribbean’s private island destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay.  While in Europe,  Mediterranean ports include Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Marseille, France; La Spezia and Rome, Italy.
