Onam: Special bus services between Karnataka and Kerala to resume from Aug 25

In a move to facilitate travel of people between Kerala and Karnataka during the festival of Onam, the transport corporations of both of the states will run special bus services. These bus services will be available between August 25 and September 6.

Reportedly, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will be operating special buses for Onam between August 24 and September 6 from Bengaluru and Mysuru to various places of Kerala. Also, the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (Kerala RTC) is set to resume interstate bus services to and from Karnataka during this occasion, and will resume bus services between Kerala and Karnataka from August 25 to September 6.

As per the Karnataka state transport, the special bus services will operate between Bengaluru and Kannur, Kanhangad, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Kasaragod, Palghat, Kozhikode, Thrissur, Vadakara, and Thiruvananthapuram.

Further, as per the Kerala state transport, the services will be resumed, but with strict protocols in place. It announced that the travellers will be responsible to uphold the restrictions imposed by the Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu Governments on the day of travel.

Meanwhile, those who wish to travel to Karnataka, should register themselves on the state’s COVID-19 Seva Sindu portal’. Those who wish to travel to Kerala need to register themselves online on the Kerala COVID-19 Jagratha portal for mandatory passes.

Apart from these, all travellers need to have the Aarogya Setu app installed in their phones, and will have to wear face masks throughout the journey.

  • Bengaluru – Thiruvananthapuram (Kozhikode) at 3.30 PM
  • Bengaluru – Kottayam (Salem-Palakkad) at 3.45 PM
  • Bengaluru – Pathanamthitta (Salem-Palakkad) at 7.32 PM
  • Bengaluru – Ernakulam (Kutta) at 7 PM
  • Bengaluru – Thrissur (Salem-Palakkad) at 8 PM
  • Bengaluru – Palakkad (Salem) at 9 PM
  • Bengaluru – Kannur (Virajpet) at 9.05 PM
  • Bengaluru – Kozhikode (Sulthan Bathery) at 11.45 PM
  • Bengaluru – Kasaragod (Mysuru, Mercara, Sullia) at 8.30 PM

Kerala to Karnataka

  • Thiruvananthapuram – Bengaluru (Kozhikode) at 3 PM
  • Kottayam – Bengaluru (Palakkad-Salem) at 5.30 PM
  • Pathanamthitta – Bengaluru (Palakkad-Salem) at 5.31 PM
  • Ernakulam – Bengaluru (Kutta) at 4.45 PM
