With the country being in lockdown, people have been struggling to reach their homes, especially the migrants, and those stranded in different cities for varying reasons. As reported earlier, when India entered lockdown phase four, the government announced certain relaxations to facilitate people reach their homes safely.
Therefore, working on the similar lines, the Indian Railways announced that it would start running these special 200 trains from June 1. With the government relaxing restrictions in phases now, this latest announcement has been a reason to smile for many who were eagerly waiting for resumption of train services.
These trains will be in addition to the air-conditioned special trains and shramik special trains, which have been earlier started.
Now, in order to get a set booked in these trains that are scheduled to resume operations from June 1, one needs to book their tickets online via mobile app or by visiting the IRCTC website. Both AC and non-AC classes will be available, and fares will be normal. As per the latest news reports, bookings for these trains have started from today.
The railways also added that advance reservation period shall be maximum 30 days for these trains. Reportedly, no tickets will be available across the reservation counter in any railway station. There will be no unreserved coaches in these trains.
Some of the popular trains have been included in this list, such as Jan Shatabdi, Duronto, Sampark Kranti, Poorva Express, and more.
