If you have tested positive for Coronavirus in the past, visiting Iceland for a winter vacation will be a viable choice as the nation has removed mandatory quarantine for foreign travellers with antibodies.
According to the reports, the new travel policy introduced by Iceland will become effective from December 10, 2020. All that has to be done by travellers is to submit a proof of their positive PCR test done about 14 days ago, or an antibody test done at a European laboratory or epidemiologist in the country.
Reportedly, in addition, foreign travellers must submit a report of the PCR test as Iceland is not accepting rapid test results.
Meanwhile, travellers from the U.S. are still not permitted to enter Iceland for a short vacation. Nonetheless, they can a seek long-term visa and live in Iceland for a maximum duration of six months to enjoy its natural beauty whilst working. This rule has been framed to minimise the risk of infection from overseas arrivals. Also, with the introduction of a foolproof vaccine, the rules will be reconsidered for change.

For tourists, who have never tested positive for Coronavirus but want to visit Iceland, the mandatory rule is to either undergo two tests or undergo quarantine for 14 days upon arrival. The first test will be done upon arrival and the second one after a few days of quarantine. Tourists under quarantine will be permitted to go for outdoor walks but visit to tourist spots will not be permitted.
