Life has once again come to a standstill in Mumbai as heavy rains continue to lash the city suburbs. The government has issued a Red Alert in the city for ‘extremely heavy’ rainfall as heavy rainfall has continued for more than 24 hours now. Those planning a trip to Mumbai will have to halt their plans as there has been a report of a massive landslide on the Western Express Highway.
In the past one day, a number of mishaps have been reported in the city including tree fall, house collapse and short-circuits. Severe water logging has occurred in the low-lying regions and a number of slums and shops have been flooded.
