Greece allows direct flights from the UK from July 15; Taiwan lifts travel restrictions for 11 destinations

Greece, a country known for being the birthplace of democracy, will allow direct flights from the UK from July 15.

An official from Greece told a leading daily that the resumption of direct flights from England to the airports across Greece has been permitted in cooperation with the British government, and as per the advice given by the experts.

Reportedly, Greece is excluded from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) advisory against non-essential international travel. However, a ban on non-stop flights was recently pushed forward, thus making travels more difficult. In the coming days, airlines will be able to resume their operations for the summer.

However, travellers from the UK, craving for a summer vacation to Greece do not have many options. Out of the 74 destinations to which the FCO has given the permit, barely 25 nations don’t have limitations on the UK arrivals.

Malta has made it mandatory for the UK arrivals to undergo quarantine for 14 days, while Cyprus has not yet allowed entry to the travellers from the UK.

On the other hand, in Asia, Taiwan is reported to have lifted travel restrictions against Australia, Fiji, Hong Kong, Macau, Bhutan, Brunei, Mongolia, Palau, Thailand New Zealand and Vietnam in the first week of July 2020.
