DOJ asks federal appeals court to reverse order lifting travel mask mandate

The Justice Office questioned a federal appeals court on Tuesday to overturn last month’s court docket decision by a federal judge that declared the mandate demanding masks on airplanes and other community transportation unlawful.
In a 48-site document filed in the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, the Justice Office argues that the purchase issued by the Facilities for Ailment Handle and Prevention in early 2021 “falls effortlessly within just the CDC’s statutory authority.”
Last month, the Justice Department said that it would appeal U.S. District Decide Kathryn Kimball Mizelle’s selection to strike down the CDC’s mask mandate for general public transportation if the agency determines the mandate is however wanted to guard community wellness.
