Governments across the world are gradually reopening their borders to travellers, and are also adopting testing measures to limit the risks of COVID-19 importation. In such a scenario, a new digital health pass
, CommonPass, is set to make way for hassle-free travel.
Reportedly, five leading airlines have introduced the digital health passports, called
CommonPass, to ensure that passengers with a recorded negative COVID-19 test can travel without any hassle and without undergoing the process of quarantine.
As per the reports, those flying with Swiss International Airlines, JetBlue, United Airlines, Lufthansa, and Virgin Atlantic can use the CommonPass to record their COVID status, and use it as a proof of their COVID status, which they can also show to airport staff.
How will CommonPass help travelers?
CommonPass saves user’s test results on their mobile phone, and also sends them notifications regarding health screening information that are being mandated by the destination country.
This means the CommonPass will likely make travel a bit easier, as it will also allow them to carry their COVID-19 test result in a standardized format, which is instantly recognizable to officials. Further, it will also enable destinations to set specific health screening requirements, such as a negative PCR test required before departure. It is expected that this will allow countries to reopen their borders carefully, and resume international travel, while protecting their people too.
Also, one can access their lab results, and learn about vaccination records via the CommonPass mobile app.
