Carry a COVID-19 negative report if you are travelling to West Bengal from these states

Like most of the metro cities in India, West Bengal has also made it mandatory to carry a COVID-19 negative report for people travelling from Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka and Telangana by flights. A negative RT-PCR test is required. The announcement was made by the WB government in view of the rising number of Coronavirus positive patients in these states.

The letter released by Bengal government reads, “This is to inform you that State Government has decided that from 12 noon of 27th Feb, 2021, all passengers coming to West Bengal from the aforesaid 4 states shall mandatorily carry a covid negative RT-PCR Report within 72 hours of flight departure.”

Just a few days back, Delhi too had made it mandatory to carry a COVID-19 negative test reports for those travelling from Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Punjab.

The rule was implemented by the Delhi government starting February 26. As per reports, officers in all the five states are advised to verify COVID-19 negative results from tests that have been taken not prior to 72 hours before boarding the flight.

Meanwhile, West Bengal has recorded 3377 COVID-19 active cases and reported 202 new Coronavirus cases.
