ANA integrates optional travel insurance into ticket booking

All Nippon Airways (ANA) has introduced embedded travel insurance options on its website for international travellers to Japan, in partnership with Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance.

The integrated insurance portal, which launched on the website on 17 March, enables customers purchasing an ANA international flight ticket to purchase optional travel insurance alongside it.

Insurance purchases via the portal are currently available for all flights from the US, as well as from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in Vietnam; Taipei in Taiwan; Bangkok in Thailand; Manila in the Philippines; and Hong Kong.

“By making travel insurance accessible through our website, ANA is taking another important step to simplify the travel process and offer our customers additional service,” said Junko Yazawa, Executive Vice President, Customer Experience Management and Planning at ANA.

“With global travel set to rebound, the ability to easily select an insurance plan for your trip to Japan will make the entire process more convenient and enjoyable. The number of departure locations eligible for insurance coverage will extend to meet emerging demand,” he added.

Similar partnerships between airlines and travel insurance providers have become increasingly common in recent years. A similar partnership between Allianz Partners and Singapore Airlines was also announced earlier this year.
