Abu Dhabi is offering COVID-19 vaccines to tourists for free

The capital city of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, is giving tourists COVID-19 vaccinations for free. Earlier, these vaccines were restricted to citizens of the UAE and residency visa holders. It is still not clear if the changes will be applicable for Dubai or other five emirate cities or not.

Tourists can book their vaccines as soon as they arrive in the UAE via Abu Dhabi. According to the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), visitors having visas issued by Abu Dhabi and those with eligible passports can book free vaccines.

In fact, holders of expired residency or entry visas can also get free vaccinations, informed the Abu Dhabi Media Office. SEHA is offering China’s state-owned Sinopharm and Pfizer/BioNTech in vaccines in Abu Dhabi.

The UAE saw a hike in Infection rate last month, which resulted in restrictions on entry, quarantine requirements and RT-PCR testing. But now, the country has allowed travellers from 27 countries including the US, China and Germany to enter without quarantine on arrival.

The same is not confirmed from the Dubai Media Office. The health authority in Dubai has informed that vaccines are being offered to citizens only and holders of valid Dubai residency visas.

According to the health authorities in the UAE, nearly 85 percent of the country’s population has received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine this month.
