In a bid to control the rising COVID-19 cases in the country, the Rajasthan government has made COVID-19 negative reports mandatory for those travelling from Maharashtra and Kerala. The state government has tightened restrictions for travellers arriving by flights in the state.
The statement released by the state government reads, “Travellers from Maharashtra and Kerala to Rajasthan should provide a negative RT-PCR report not older than 72 hours on their arrival.”
A high-level multi-disciplinary teams were deputed to Maharashtra, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Jammu and Kashmir by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on February 24. The teams were there to support the states in public health measures for targeted COVID response and management.
As per the official release, the three-member teams will work together with the states and UT governments across the country to understand the reason behind the recent hike in COVID-19 positive cases. The team members will coordinate with health authorities and take required measures to control and break the chain of transmission.
Before Rajasthan, Delhi, West Bengal and Maharashtra made it mandatory for people to carry a COVID-19 negative test reports.
