Hyderabad will very soon have a new tourist attraction, the cable-stayed bridge at Durgam Cheruvu, which is an engineering marvel. The work at the bridge is completed now; soon, it will be formally inaugurated as well.
About Durgam Cheruvu bridge
It took around INR 180 crore to build this 238 m long bridge in Hyderabad. The Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP), the group under which construction is done, will ensure a smooth traffic towards Hitec City. Besides, the bridge is definitely going to attract tourists and visitors from all over, given its amazing look.
The illuminated pylons and cables will feature multi-coloured lighting, with the same reflecting in the lake. It nearly took INR 8.9 crore to install the hitech lighting system, which will display 25 themes to suit the occasion, just like Burj Khalifa building in Dubai. As per the plans, there will be holidays and festivals themes including specials ones such as the Independence Day, Eid, Telangana Formation Day and Diwali, among others.

The place has already become a tourist hotspot as people from all over have been coming to witness the beauty of the bridge each evening. The bridge sees a number of health junkies in the morning time, but nights are beautiful with lights here.
TOI quoted mayor Bonthu Rammohan, “We have requested all the buildings located in the vicinity of the bridge to deck up their houses with colourful lighting for the bridge’s inauguration. The inauguration will be held in the evening for a stunning view.”
Besides being beautiful, the cable bridge is also expected to cut the travel distance from MindSpace to Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad by 2 km.
A video of the bridge was released a few days and back. Soon after, the video showcasing the bridge with multi-coloured lighting went viral on social media platforms. People also are praising the municipal corporation’s effort’s in executing the project.
